The scroll of prophecy is being unsealed

Daniel’s prophecy a temporary sealing

Daniel was told by the angel Gabriel to seal up the words of the book (scroll).^1 2  This temporary sealing of the book was because the time of the end was a long way off when old Daniel received his vision some 2500 years ago.  But interestingly, the Apostle John was instructed to not seal up the words of the prophecy of his book (Revelation) because that was the time of the end.³  Fast forward 2500 years to this present day and we find ourselves right at the precipice of the time of the end.  The words of Daniel’s book and John’s book of Revelation are becoming clearer and clearer as we get closer and closer.  Financial, political, and religious events are giving us a clearer picture and we can almost see how the events of the last seven years will emerge.  We need to be vigilant in watching and praying as we approach the end of the church age.

How long will it be?

In Daniel 12:5, one of two angels asked the question how long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?  And that is the question, isn’t it?  The man clothed in linen (Christ) answers that it will be for a time, times, and half a time which is an archaic way of saying 3 ½ years.  In prophecy terms, the clock that really only matters is the last 1290 days, 42 months or 3 ½ years when everything then is according to a strict countdown till the end.  This is when the Antichrist appears on the earthly scene after rising from the dead out of the Abyss at the fifth trumpet and sets himself up as God and makes a sacrifice called the abomination of desolation on the wings of the temple.

Notice carefully in verse 7 that it says the end will come when the power of the holy people has been finally broken. Why do you think that is?  Because it is when we have finally come to the end of our own strength that God moves!  He wants us to even acknowledge that now in our daily Christian lives.  That is the point—to show mankind that he is totally inadequate and that we can only turn to God for all our needs and only He can truly rescue us.  Great faith will be needed at the end to trust that God has everything in His control yet every man and his dog, including most Christians, will abandon and fall away from the faith at that time.  That is why it is so important and imperative that we watch for the timing when we must escape to the safe place as described in Revelation 12.

Daniel heard what was said but didn’t understand it.⁴  He wanted to know what it all meant but the words were sealed and he could gain no understanding at that time but things are clearer for us now because we are at the very end.  That is a promise from God!  So that should encourage us to study prophecy, to watch for the signs, and to pray that we may be able to escape when the time comes.  The responsibility is on us to find out the meaning of these things and to have the desire just like Daniel did.

But the harsh reality for most people is that everything will keep just going on as it has been.  Scoffers will keep scoffing.  The wicked will keep doing evil but the good news is that many will be purified and those who are wise will have their eyes opened.  They will understand.  And my hope is that you too will have your eyes opened as you study prophecy.

An intense time of trouble is coming

The last 3 ½ years will be an intense time of trouble especially for Israel and for the world.  The Antichrist will be energized by Satan and his fury will be great because he knows that his time is very short.  The world will be forced to split into two camps–those who follow the beast and those who stand against him and follow God.  He will try everything to get you to follow him because he knows that you will follow him into the pits of hell.  One of the ways he will try his hardest is to get people to take his identifying mark which will be disguised as a financial and possibly a health necessity.  This is becoming so much clearer because we see that we are getting closer and closer to a universal financial system through a digital currency that will be administered by the world’s central banks.  That is probably much closer than we think.  It increasingly looks like international travel will be almost impossible without a complying Covid-19 vaccine and some kind of health passport.  The system is increasingly being locked down and controlled as we move into 2021.

As I said at the beginning, the prophecy clouds are lifting and the words of the book are being unsealed some 2500 years later.  Make sure you read them yourself.
