Three Jewish feasts still yet to come

Introduction

In October 2017, when visiting Israel with a tour group, I was surprised to learn and see that we were visiting during the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot as they call it in Hebrew. There were little tents and temporary structures on balconies, in backyards, and wherever they could be constructed, all over the country.  The picture that I took above shows a structure at the back of a restaurant.  Israel even now in this modern-day, all over the country, prepares and celebrates Sukkot where they “feast” and camp out for seven days in Autumn as they remember how they lived in tents for 40 years after the exile from Egypt.

The Jewish feasts have relevance for Christianity

As Gentile Christians, we don’t tend to know too much about the 7 feasts of God. But there are in fact seven feasts or seven “rehearsals” as it can be defined, celebrated, and kept by the Jewish people. But they also have a lot of relevance for us as Christians as well.  The Feast of Tabernacles is the only feast out of the seven feasts that we will still be celebrating as the people of God during the millennial kingdom where it says in Revelation also that the kings of the nations will be bringing in their gifts every year and if they don’t then there will be no rain in their land.  I have come to see that the feasts operate on at least three different levels:  historical setting; prophetic setting, and on a personal spiritual level.  How about checking out my Feast of God series in the Book of Leviticus?

God is redeeming mankind on a personal level to be sure but He is also accomplishing the ultimate prophetic fulfillment of the seven feasts.  And it is in this way that the feasts are literally rehearsals for their ultimate future fulfillment.  If you like we are presently in the long hot summer of the harvest period where we are bringing in the souls of men into the kingdom.  Prophetically we are situated in between the first four feasts and the last three feasts.  They were like the weights of a barbell, weighing down each end of the Jewish religious calendar.  And at this time in history, we are presently making our way along the steel bar to the other weighty end of the barbell.

One Response

  1. I find this stuff fascinating, and you’re right…as believers most of us know very little about the seven feasts or rehearsals, their meaning, and their significance. Having just recently listened to the complete 7 rehearsals messages, it was really an eye-opener to not only how little most of us know but how amazing God’s plan really is. Being a slow learner this is a series that is definitely on my list of those to listen to again. I also now hold the view after some other reading and investigation that we can know when our Lord will return..He has given us the information there. I used to misquote that passage my self all the time!…that no one knows the day or hour.
The Jubilee calendar was another eye-opener.

Keep the articles/posts coming Steve…great work mate
